Relive the nostalgic stories of everyone's favorite steam engine in an upcoming series of videos.
Chase Green, the founder of Real Guy Productions, has been an American fan of the classic TV show Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends since he was a little boy. During this year, which marked 80 years since the publication of the first book in The Railway Series - on which the show was based - Chase has recently released an announcement teaser for a remake series based on Thomas & Friends on the Real Guy Productions YouTube channel.
Chase is excited to honor the memory of Britt Allcroft - the founder of the original show, who passed away in December of 2024 - and share nostalgia with other grown-up fans of Thomas, as well as with kids. Soon, Thomas and his friends on the Island of Sodor will come back to life and enchant the world all over again with a fan's new vision of the old stories.
Chase will adapt the scripts, using the original books and episodes for reference and attempting to make the context of the stories more comprehendible for current kids. His Dad, Tony, will narrate videos. Chase plans to either use much of the music and sound effects from the original TV show, or create entirely new audio tracks with sound effects and new covers of the old music with his Dad. We'll have to see what happens when Chase tries uploading the videos. They may need to be edited over.
Vintage toy trains based on Thomas & Friends, mostly made by Tomy and Fisher-Price, will be used when filming the videos. The scenery will feature as much detail as Chase can afford, but will also be simpler than the original episodes. When a fair amount of the videos in this series are all filmed and edited, Chase will launch a sister YouTube channel dedicated specifically to them. Chase hasn't yet come up with a unique name for this new channel, but he's got his fingers crossed.
This new remake series is still in early development. Chase has several personal expenses that he needs to focus on at the moment, and other videos that he's making, too. So he can't start making his new Thomas videos quite yet. Hopefully, in early-to-mid-2026, Chase will be able to start buying more materials for the series than he now has and start working on it. We'll let you know as soon as Chase starts filming the series and decides when he plans to release his first few remakes online.
This remake series is a fan-made tribute, and will be made purely for the purposes of nostalgia and fun entertainment. We do not own Thomas & Friends. It belongs to Mattel.
